About the role#
The Corporate Development team manages mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments at ICF. This 10-week summer internship offers exposure to live deal processes and strategic projects. You will work under the direction of deal leads to support research, analysis, and internal operations. We are looking for a motivated student who can handle confidential information and use AI tools responsibly to improve research and productivity.
What you'll do#
- Research target companies, competitors, and market segments.
- Create company profiles, screening summaries, market maps, and market overviews.
- Support due diligence by tracking requests, organizing materials, and summarizing findings for the deal team.
- Prepare and update presentation materials for internal deal reviews and leadership updates.
- Assist with pipeline tracking, data organization, and comparable company research.
- Use approved AI tools to improve efficiency in research, data organization, and presentation development.
- Help identify practical AI use cases for the team and support other strategic internal projects.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours in finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, data science, computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
- Completed bachelor's degree and enrollment verification, or 9 credit hours completed in a master's degree program in a relevant field.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Comfort with financial statements, basic corporate finance concepts, and structured research.
- Experience using AI tools for research, analysis, or workflow improvement.
- Ability to use AI responsibly by validating outputs and applying sound judgment.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and organized approach to work.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn new tools.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship running from June through August 2027.
- The role is based in Reston, Virginia, with a hybrid work schedule requiring 2 days per week in the office.
- We are unable to provide housing or relocation assistance for this position.
