About the role#
This is a 10-week, full-time internship within the ICF Climate Center. You will gain experience by supporting staff on client-focused projects and collaborating with your cohort to contribute to a shared Climate Center flagship report. You will learn about climate change mitigation, risk assessment, and resilience strategies while gaining insight into the consulting field.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate on projects involving energy and environmental markets, greenhouse gas inventories, and mitigation analyses.
- Assist with climate change vulnerability assessments, adaptation planning, and social equity initiatives.
- Perform quantitative problem-solving, data collection, and analysis.
- Review literature and synthesize research findings into clear reports for technical and general audiences.
- Translate complex climate science and risk management topics into accessible language.
- Provide logistical and planning support for meetings, workshops, and webinars.
- Contribute to the development of a Climate Center flagship report.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours of college coursework by the start date.
- Academic focus in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Climate & Meteorology, Economics, Environmental Science & Policy, Public Policy, Business Administration, Communications, or Hard Sciences.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and at least one quantitative tool or software, such as Python, R, or GIS.
- Experience conducting scientific or policy research, performing literature reviews, and synthesizing findings.
- Ability to work collaboratively, manage time effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

- Compensation: $23 per hour.
