About the role#
This internship position is with the IBM Z WSC Advisory team. You will support worldwide IBM Z and IBM LinuxONE clients, internal teams, and business partners. The team focuses on guiding clients toward technology decisions through empirical analysis and technical expertise. You will gain exposure to enterprise-class systems, IBM Z labs, and real-world client environments while developing expertise in IBM z/OS, Parallel Sysplex, and system-level resiliency.
What you'll do#
- Analyze client environments to deliver technical recommendations that improve system performance and security.
- Partner with development teams to address specific client requests.
- Coordinate with support resources to track client priorities and open issues.
- Support account teams in network-specific client engagements.
- Design and execute resiliency workshops for clients and business partners.
- Create client-facing conference and education materials for events like SHARE and TechXchange.
- Assist in the design of labs focused on Parallel Sysplex and resiliency.
- Manage workflows for incoming projects using project management tools.
- Contribute to client education and nurture pathways for z/OS.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages including Python, Java, or C.
- Familiarity with IBM z/OS, mainframe hardware, Cobol, or JCL.
- Understanding of enterprise operating systems, IT infrastructure, networking, and routing.
- Knowledge of resiliency concepts within enterprise IT environments.
- Experience using AI tools for productivity and advanced skills in Microsoft Suite.
- Familiarity with project management frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work autonomously.
- Experience with client relationship management.
