About the role#
As a Storage Client Solutions Engineering Intern, you will work with the IBM Storage Solutions Team to develop and test infrastructure technologies. You will gain experience in enterprise storage, hybrid cloud, and AI-enabled data platforms. This role involves working alongside engineers, product leaders, and technology partners to support real-world projects and customer-focused innovation.
What you'll do#
- Assist senior engineers with research, technical discovery, and gathering customer requirements.
- Support the development of technical demonstrations, presentations, and solution materials.
- Participate in lab activities, proof-of-concept deployments, and solution validation.
- Document solution architectures, configuration guides, and technical findings.
- Create and maintain internal knowledge assets and reusable content.
- Support partner enablement, technical workshops, and demonstration environments.
- Analyze solution adoption, customer feedback, and technical engagement metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, product management, and sales.
- Learn about industry trends in storage, hybrid cloud, AI infrastructure, and data management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university and returning to school after the internship.
- Academic foundation in infrastructure, cloud computing, data systems, or software engineering.
- Hands-on experience from coursework, personal projects, labs, hackathons, or student organizations.
- Previous technical internship, co-op, research, or open-source contribution experience.
- Familiarity with scripting or programming languages like Python, Bash, or Go.
- Exposure to AI/ML, data analytics, modern data pipelines, or cloud services.
- Demonstrated leadership and experience collaborating on technical team projects.
- Junior, Senior, or Master's degree students are preferred.
- Relevant coursework in distributed systems, storage, networking, or cybersecurity is an advantage.
- Certifications in AI, cloud, Kubernetes, Linux, or infrastructure are a plus.
