About the role#
We are looking for a motivated intern to join our team as a Site Reliability Engineer Network Intern. This role provides hands-on experience in managing enterprise IT systems while introducing you to modern reliability engineering practices. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support infrastructure operations, contribute to automation, and improve system performance.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and support enterprise IT systems including servers, virtual machines, and cloud environments.
- Monitor system performance to identify reliability issues.
- Support automation for routine administrative tasks using scripting tools.
- Participate in incident response and post-incident analysis.
- Document system configurations, operational procedures, and reliability metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure and service delivery.
- Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and escalate issues when necessary.
- Participate in network performance analysis and reporting.
- Apply automation techniques to reduce manual tasks.
- Assist with network upgrades and deployments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Understanding of IP and other network administration protocols.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Juniper, Arista, or Cisco network equipment.
- Ability to research IT networking issues and products.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as IBM Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools including Wireshark, SolarWinds, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD concepts.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Interest in SRE and NRE principles like observability, fault tolerance, and automation.
