About the role#
The Sales Operations Intern supports the IBM Quantum Sales organization. You will gain hands-on experience in enterprise sales, data analytics, and business process management. This role involves working with sellers and cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and support the growth of the IBM Quantum client ecosystem.
What you'll do#
- Manage and progress business opportunities through the sales cycle.
- Track opportunities, sales activities, deal status, and follow-up actions.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales data across internal systems.
- Update sales reports, metrics, and dashboards.
- Research customers and industries to provide insights for client engagements.
- Create PowerPoint presentations for internal and client-facing meetings.
- Coordinate with teams across IBM, including Finance, Contracts, Legal, and Tax, to move opportunities from initiation through execution.
- Assist with client and seller follow-up activities to ensure action items reach completion.
What you'll need#
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to translate technical topics into business or layman terms.
- Strong PowerPoint skills, including the ability to develop narratives and graphical representations.
- Data management capabilities.
- Interest in learning business deal-making and negotiation.
- Educational background in Business, Computer Science, Data Management, or a STEM field.
- Sales or presentation skills are a plus.
