About the role#
IBM is hiring a Summer 2027 intern to join the quantum computing research team in Yorktown Heights. You will help develop superconducting electronic circuits intended for quantum computing applications. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Design, simulate, and characterize superconducting circuits.
- Work with Josephson junction devices.
- Develop RF and microwave components that operate at cryogenic temperatures.
- Build hardware for superconducting qubit readout and measurement.
- Share your findings through written reports and presentations.
What you'll need#
- A background in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Experience with the design and layout of RF integrated circuits.
- Familiarity with superconducting parametric amplifiers or similar devices.
- Experience with trilayer Josephson junction devices or complex device architectures.
- Proficiency with test equipment like vector network analyzers.
- A history of research accomplishments, such as publications.
- Experience participating in multi-disciplinary research projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
