About the role#
This summer 2027 internship focuses on the measurement, simulation, and interpretation of research quantum processors and their hardware components. You will work within the research department to bridge the gap between theoretical predictions and experimental hardware performance.
What you'll do#
- Perform experimental characterizations, including spectroscopy and time-domain measurements.
- Analyze data to gain insights into device behavior.
- Build simulation-based models to correlate your experimental findings with theory.
- Investigate coherence performance relative to qubit frequency.
- Explore coupler dynamics and optimize multi-qubit interactions.
- Use open-source quantum simulation frameworks to study model-to-hardware correlation.
What you'll need#
- Bachelors degree in Physics or a related field.
- Research background in solid-state qubit platforms.
- Hands-on experience with RF and microwave electronics, such as spectrum analyzers, digitizers, pulse generators, and sources.
- Proficiency in Python, including experience with packages like QuTiP or scqubits.
- Familiarity with commercial simulation software like HFSS or COMSOL.
Location & details#
- Location: Yorktown Heights, New York, United States.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
