About the role#
As an Applied AI Software Development Intern, you will work on the mathematical foundations that power artificial intelligence in the defense mission space. You will explore new approaches in optimization, modeling, probability, and algorithmic development to create solutions for national security challenges.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, and mission experts to understand client requirements.
- Apply mathematical methods to solve data-driven challenges.
- Evaluate the performance of advanced AI and machine learning techniques.
- Support algorithm design, model validation, analytic experimentation, and explainability analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program in a STEM field, with an expected graduation date in Spring 2028 or Summer 2028.
- Proficiency in programming languages or frameworks such as Python, Java, C++, Go, or JavaScript.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control, and collaborative workflows.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Bonus points for experience with AI or ML model development, cloud platforms, containerization, DevSecOps, databases, or Agile development.
