About the role#
As a Service Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience maintaining and operating the Proton Therapy System. You will work alongside experienced team members to learn about system deployment, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role requires on-site presence and involves exposure to high voltage equipment, magnetic fields, and radiation in a clinical environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the maintenance and deployment of the Proton Therapy System to meet customer needs.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software issues within the system.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and system upgrades.
- Conduct system inspections and communicate status updates to leadership.
- Support hardware and software testing, including unit, integration, and validation testing.
- Maintain accurate records that comply with QA and FDA regulations.
- Help with daily clinical operations as directed by the Site Manager.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with MS Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- An interest in or basic knowledge of cyclotrons, electronics, mechanical systems, and software analysis.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including rotating shifts, nights, and weekends.
- Willingness to travel for training periods and professional development.
- Ability to meet medical site requirements, which may include specific immunizations.
