About the role#
Retail Pharmacy Interns gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while working toward their pharmacy degree. You will assist with prescription processing, inventory management, and patient care under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service.
- Fill and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare prescriptions and affix labels to containers.
- Report medication errors to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with inventory control and monthly inventory counts.
- Help train pharmacy employees.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Protect customer confidentiality regarding private medical information.
- Work as a team with co-workers.
- Assist in other areas of the store and complete special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience is preferred.
