About the role#
Retail Pharmacy Interns gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while working toward their pharmacy degree. You will assist with daily operations, quality assurance, and patient care under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service.
- Fill and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare prescriptions and affix labels to containers.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with inventory control, including monthly counts and security procedures.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Protect the confidentiality of customer medical information.
- Assist in training pharmacy employees.
- Work as a team with co-workers and assist in other store areas as needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations accurately.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during your shift.
