About the role#
Hy-Vee is implementing a new enterprise forecasting and replenishment platform across our distribution network and retail stores. We are hiring two interns for Summer 2027 to support this rollout. One intern will focus on distribution center replenishment while the other focuses on store replenishment. During this internship, you will validate system data, support users, and help resolve technical issues. You will report to the AVP of Procurement and present project outcomes to leadership at the end of the summer.
What you'll do#
- Reconcile item, vendor, and promotion data between systems to validate master data.
- Investigate forecast exceptions by identifying items with anomalous behavior and researching root causes.
- Triage, categorize, and route user-reported issues to the appropriate teams.
- Create training materials such as quick reference guides, job aids, and screen walkthroughs.
- Participate in pre-go-live testing and provide support to users after the system goes live.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all company financial and operational information.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward or recently acquired a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and advanced formulas.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Discretion when handling sensitive company information.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in West Des Moines, Iowa.
- The internship runs from May 17 through August 13, 2027.
- You will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- The role requires local travel within the Des Moines area to visit test stores and distribution facilities.
