About the role#
The Events Intern assists the corporate office with planning and organizing company-wide programs. You will focus on internal services, department functions, and award ceremonies to ensure high-quality execution. This role reports to the Assistant Vice President of Special Events.
What you'll do#
- Plan, coordinate, and implement events while following time and budget constraints.
- Research potential vendors and event venues.
- Compile information for company awards.
- Manage the corporate calendar and schedule upcoming events.
- Set up and break down meeting spaces as needed.
- Handle special projects and additional duties as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a college student in Event Management or Hospitality Management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a systematic approach to work.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to the Hy-Vee mission and professional appearance.
- Ability to work a variable schedule and perform physical tasks like lifting up to 50 pounds.
