About the role#
As an Info Tech Extern at Hurley Medical Center, you will work in a learning environment under the supervision of the IT Director. This role involves assisting various IT teams with first-level issue resolution and supporting projects across several technical areas. You will contribute to quality assessment activities while following safety and infection control standards. All work must align with the Hurley Family Standards of Behavior.
What you'll do#
- Support IT teams with departmental projects and problem resolution.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix common PC problems.
- Install and set up PCs along with required software.
- Assist across diverse areas such as networking, server administration, cybersecurity, database management, and data analysis.
- Adapt to new technologies and improvements relevant to your assignments.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Enrollment in or graduation from the Genesee Career Institute Information Technology program or a similar academy.
- Current enrollment in or completion of an accredited degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with at least a 2.5 GPA.
- An industry-recognized certification such as CompTIA A+, Security+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, or a Microsoft certification.
- A working knowledge of current Windows operating systems and PC troubleshooting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to maintain professional relationships with medical staff, physicians, and the public.
