About the role#
As an AI Engineer Intern, you will work at the intersection of full-stack development and artificial intelligence. You will join a team focused on prototyping and delivering AI-powered features for healthcare technology. This role requires you to balance rapid innovation with practical customer outcomes while building intelligent applications that impact senior living and healthcare.
What you'll do#
- Design and build AI-powered prototypes using emerging technology frameworks.
- Create MVPs and proofs-of-concept that may become core product features.
- Partner with product teams to find AI opportunities within existing workflows.
- Develop full-stack applications that integrate new technology at scale.
- Build with modern frameworks like React, Node.js, and Python, focusing on rapid iteration.
- Write production-quality code and design scalable APIs to connect models to user interfaces.
- Develop data pipelines and tools to enhance analytical products and infrastructure.
- Deliver features independently from the database to the UI.
- Deploy applications on AWS with a focus on cost and performance.
- Research new AI technologies and contribute to internal best practices.
- Present technical demonstrations and product concepts to stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, a related field, or equivalent self-directed learning.
- Demonstrated full-stack development experience using React, Node.js, and Python.
- Hands-on project experience with AI, machine learning, and foundation models.
- Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year and full-time during breaks.
- A portfolio of end-to-end projects with AI features, side projects showing user-centered design, or previous entrepreneurial experience is a plus.

- This position is based on-site in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- This is a part-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
