About the role#
As a Product Engineer Intern, you will support new product development and launches. You will gain hands-on experience by researching technologies, assisting with testing and prototypes, and contributing to cross-functional projects. This role involves building skills in areas like business planning, patent research, and Quality Management Systems.
What you'll do#
- Research products, components, and emerging technologies to develop specifications for new product introductions.
- Contribute to product development projects led by senior engineers to move concepts through to launch.
- Support cross-functional teams in identifying and evaluating new product opportunities.
- Develop and perform product comparison testing while establishing performance standards.
- Create concept sketches, engineering drawings, logic diagrams, and other technical documentation for prototypes.
- Review business plans and recommend technologies that support product outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a technical degree program such as Computer, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 semesters remaining before graduation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work 20 to 25 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Attention to detail and effective communication skills.
- Interest in applying new software and engineering tools.

- Schedule: Full-time hours during summer, part-time during the school year.
