The Center for Strategy and American Statecraft is seeking a research intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role provides direct support to experts on critical policy issues, including the Indo-Pacific, the war in Ukraine and Russia, and the war in Israel. Interns engage in discussions with scholars, assist with administrative tasks, and support the execution of public and intern-specific events.
What you'll do#
- Perform background research for weekly columns and podcasts.
- Gather and analyze data for reports and articles.
- Monitor and update the team on current events.
- Assist experts with research projects, presentations, articles, op-eds, and briefing memos.
- Provide administrative and event support.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in political science, international relations, economics, security studies, history, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in American foreign policy and public policy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong research, writing, editing, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented and reliable professional demeanor.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, DC (On-site).
- Term: August 24, 2026, to December 4, 2026.
- Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is a volunteer, unpaid position.
