About the role#
The Pension Advocacy & Research team is looking for a student to support various research and advocacy projects. This role involves gathering information, analyzing trends, and assisting with communication campaigns. You will work closely with the team to help prepare materials for external meetings and Board presentations.
What you'll do#
- Develop content and prepare presentations or reports for external events.
- Conduct stakeholder mapping and profile targeted organizations or individuals.
- Assist with the project management of research initiatives and communication campaigns.
- Maintain divisional templates to ensure consistent standards.
- Monitor the divisional calendar and track project deadlines, notifying the team of any obstacles.
- Research relevant conferences and assist with event logistics such as venue sourcing and equipment setup.
- Summarize information from various sources to support advocacy and identify emerging trends in pensions, healthcare, and workforce issues.
- Provide administrative support for meetings, reports, and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Business, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, or Communications.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative research data.
- Experience with environmental scans, literature reviews, or stakeholder research is an asset.
- Familiarity with data visualization, reporting, or survey tools is an asset.
