    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid Co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site in our Boston office to support our traffic engineering department. You will assist mid and senior level engineers with research, design, and project development tasks. This role is intended for students currently enrolled in an accredited civil engineering program.

    What you'll do#

    • Analyze, design, and optimize transportation systems.
    • Support the optimization of traffic signal systems, including timing, coordination, and signal priority.
    • Conduct traffic flow and capacity analysis, along with simulation modeling.
    • Assist in the development of transportation management plans.
    • Contribute to the design of roadway traffic elements like intersections, signage, and pavement markings.
    • Participate in traffic data collection, such as volume counts, travel time studies, and speed studies.
    • Prepare technical reports, engineering drawings, and project presentations.
    • Assist engineering teams with general research, development, and documentation tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
    • Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
    • Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
    • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for project documents.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to accept and apply direction from supervisors and peers.
    • Familiarity with introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
    • Completion of at least 2 years of a Civil Engineering program is preferred.
    • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred.
    • A strong interest in transportation and infrastructure is preferred.

    • Compensation: $25.28 - $37.92 per hour.
