About the role#
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern or Co-op to join our team. This role supports engineers on active projects involving design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing support. It is designed for students who want to apply classroom knowledge in a practical setting, gain hands-on experience, and build professional engineering skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist with mechanical design tasks, including CAD modeling, drafting, and design reviews.
- Support engineering analyses such as stress analysis, tolerance stack-ups, thermal evaluations, or fluid mechanics applications.
- Participate in prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing activities.
- Collect, organize, and interpret test data to prepare clear documentation and reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and project engineering.
- Maintain engineering documentation like BOMs, drawings, and specifications.
- Perform research, benchmarking, and engineering calculations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Completion of foundational engineering coursework, such as statics, dynamics, materials, or thermodynamics.
- Familiarity with CAD tools like SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions, and participate in engineering discussions.
- Experience with lab work, hands-on projects, or student engineering organizations is preferred.
- Exposure to engineering software such as MATLAB, Python, FEA tools, or simulation environments is a plus.
