About the role#
This internship at The Hotel Hershey focuses on building operational capability within a professional kitchen. Interns work across various kitchen stations, receiving coaching from Sous Chefs and senior line staff while executing tasks at a professional production level. Candidates must be committed to the full duration of the internship term.
What you'll do#
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with ServSafe training and State Food Safety regulations.
- Demonstrate safe handling of tools, knives, and kitchen equipment.
- Exhibit safe food handling practices.
- Follow verbal directions and written recipes accurately, asking for clarification when needed.
- Develop proficiency in operating assigned kitchen stations.
- Apply knowledge of weights, measures, and kitchen math.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Currently enrolled in a Culinary Arts program or a recent graduate within 6 months of application.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
- A full knife kit.
- ServSafe certification is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including repetitive wrist and elbow motions, and the ability to work in extreme temperatures.
- Ability to distinguish between flavors, spices, temperatures, and scents.

- Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- Term: Fall 2027.
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- This is a union position. Schedules are based on union seniority and will likely require evening and weekend hours.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Housing may be available for a weekly fee of $160, which covers utilities and is deducted from biweekly paychecks.
