About the role#
This internship at The Hotel Hershey focuses on building operational skills in a professional kitchen. You will work across various kitchen areas, receive coaching from Sous Chefs and senior staff, and learn to execute tasks at a professional production level. This is a full-time, paid position for the Fall 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Follow verbal directions and written recipes accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area according to ServSafe and State Food Safety regulations.
- Handle tools, knives, and kitchen equipment safely.
- Practice safe food handling procedures.
- Develop proficiency in operating assigned kitchen stations.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You are currently enrolled in a Culinary Arts program or graduated within the last 6 months.
- You must own a full knife kit.
- You are proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
- ServSafe certification is preferred.
- You must have a basic understanding of weights, measures, and kitchen math.

- Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: This is a union position. You must be available for evening and weekend hours based on union seniority.
- Physical requirements: The role involves repetitive motions like chopping and stirring, working in extreme temperatures, and the ability to distinguish flavors, scents, and textures.
- Transportation: You must have access to reliable transportation.
