About the role#
This internship at Devon Seafood and Steak provides students with hands-on experience in a high-volume, scratch kitchen environment. You will develop operational skills including knife work, sanitation, recipe adherence, and food handling while rotating through different departments based on your performance and goals. The program focuses on building proficiency in hot line and prep cooking techniques used across the Downtown Restaurant Group.
What you'll do#
- Prepare entrees, appetizers, soups, sandwiches, and side items.
- Follow verbal directions and written recipes quickly and accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with ServSafe and State Food Safety regulations.
- Demonstrate safe handling of tools, knives, and kitchen equipment.
- Assist in general food preparation and develop proficiency in operating assigned stations.
- Perform all job-related duties as required.
What you'll need#
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Current enrollment in a culinary or pastry program, or graduation from such a program within the last 6 months.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- One year of industry-related food and beverage experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in English, basic math, and weights and measures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in extreme temperatures.

- Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 2026 through December 2026).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible shifts are required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Transportation: Reliable personal transportation is required as it is not provided.
- Housing: Company-coordinated housing may be available for a weekly fee of $160, which covers utilities and limited transportation.
