About the role#
The Chocolatier Culinary Intern supports kitchen operations at The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio. You will gain experience in food service, inventory management, and kitchen administration while working within the Hershey Entertainment Complex. This is a paid, part-time summer internship.
What you'll do#
- Assist with food preparation and service shifts.
- Help develop and maintain dining plans, kitchen guidelines, food safety procedures, and presentation techniques.
- Manage inventory by rotating stock, counting items, and following standard par levels.
- Order, receive, and store food items and supplies.
- Coordinate staffing requirements and act as a liaison for scheduling updates.
- Enter and modify standardized recipe forms.
- Perform other assigned kitchen duties.
What you'll need#
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are currently enrolled in a culinary program or graduated within the last 6 months.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A detail-oriented, self-motivated, and positive approach to work.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, sit, and lift 25 pounds unassisted or 50 pounds with assistance.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- The position is on-site for Summer 2027.
- Company-coordinated housing is available for students working May through August 2027 for a weekly fee of $160.
