About the role#
This Culinary Internship at the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex offers hands-on experience with kitchen operations at the Giant Center and surrounding facilities. You will support the team with inventory, ordering, and staff coordination throughout the summer season.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing dining plans, kitchen guidelines, and food safety procedures.
- Manage and update kitchen and catering event orders.
- Communicate staffing requirements to help with scheduling.
- Order, receive, and store food items and supplies.
- Maintain inventory by rotating stock and tracking par levels.
- Deliver supplies within the operation.
- Enter and modify standardized recipe forms.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Current enrollment in a Culinary or Pastry program is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A self-motivated approach and attention to detail.
- A professional image and a positive attitude.
Location & details#
- Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: This is a part-time role with up to 35 hours per week, though some weeks may require up to 50 hours. You must be available for flexible shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Demands: You will need to stand for most of your shift and lift up to 25 pounds unassisted or 50 pounds with assistance. The role requires regular work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Housing: Company-coordinated housing is available for a weekly fee of $160, which includes utilities and limited transportation.
