As a Propulsion Engineer Test Intern, you will gain hands-on experience with high-performance propulsion systems. You will work directly with engineers and technicians to support engine and system-level testing, contributing to hypersonic development efforts. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship for the Fall 2026 term, lasting approximately 16 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside experienced engineers to assist in designing, setting up, and operating test stands while learning the fundamentals of propulsion system testing.
- Instrument test setups, monitor test conditions, and analyze performance data to contribute to system improvements and troubleshooting.
- Partner with engineers and technicians to refine test processes, enhance safety procedures, and develop a deeper understanding of propulsion systems in a real-world environment.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program).
- Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies, or projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles and a demonstrated interest in propulsion systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 to meet U.S. export control requirements.
