Operations and Test Engineering Intern - (Summer/Fall 2026)

About the role#

Hermeus is seeking an Operations and Test Engineering Intern to support the development of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft. This role involves working directly with engineering teams to plan, execute, and analyze flight tests, helping to minimize technical risk through iterative testing campaigns.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with experienced engineers on the planning, execution, and analysis of flight tests.
• Monitor test parameters and interpret flight data to support system performance and safety objectives.
• Partner with the engineering team to refine test processes and gain insight into flight dynamics and aircraft systems.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (third or fourth-year undergraduate, Master's, or Ph.D. student).
• Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles via projects, studies, or previous internships.
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles and a demonstrated interest in flight testing.
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements (U.S. person or eligible for deemed export licensing).

• Location: Los Angeles, CA (On-site).
• Terms: Summer 2026 (approx. 10 weeks) or Fall 2027 (approx. 16 weeks).
• Majors: Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Industrial Engineering.
