Pharmacy Student Intern

About the role#

The Pharmacy Student Intern works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support the Methodist Hospital Pharmacy team. This role assists in the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring patients and clinical departments receive necessary medications and supplies.

What you'll do#

• Prepare medications and supplies for patients, patient care areas, and ancillary departments.
• Assist the pharmacist in processing outpatient prescriptions.
• Manage inventory by receiving, stocking, and reordering medications and supplies.
• Process cash register transactions.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Deliver medications and provide general assistance to the pharmacist.
• Pharmacy students in their 2nd through 4th year may check the work of pharmacy technicians.
• Pharmacy students in their 3rd or 4th year may assist the Emergency Center Pharmacist with medication reconciliation and the Hospice Program Pharmacist with chart reviews.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited professional pharmacy program.
• Registration with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern (first through fourth year).
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet insurability requirements related to motor vehicle violation criteria.
• Familiarity with computer software and automated dispensing products is preferred.

• Location: Saint Louis Park, Minnesota.
• Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: One evening per week and every fourth weekend.
