About the role#
HCVT is offering a Summer 2027 Tax Internship in Fort Worth, Texas. This full-time, paid internship provides exposure to tax preparation and research within a professional accounting environment. Interns will work with a buddy and performance manager to develop both technical and soft skills while participating in firm training and team activities.
What you'll do#
- Prepare federal and multi-state income tax returns and related work papers for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
- Complete projects within established engagement timelines and budget guidelines.
- Utilize firm tax preparation software to enhance service quality and share knowledge with team members.
- Perform self-reviews of work and conduct tax technical research as assigned by supervisors.
- Build relationships with firm professionals and engage in professional development activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or taxation, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Minimum overall and accounting GPAs of 3.0.
- Active membership in Beta Alpha Psi or another campus accounting organization.
- Strong technical aptitude and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, maintain high attention to detail, and take initiative.
- Receptiveness to feedback and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort Worth, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027 (Mid-June through Mid-August).
- Commitment: 40 hours per week.
- Modality: Hybrid work model.
- Note: HCVT is unable to provide work authorization sponsorship for this position.
