About the role#
HCVT is hiring for a Tax Internship in Salt Lake City for the summer of 2028. This is a full-time, paid position that requires a commitment of 40 hours per week from mid-June through mid-August. Please note that the firm does not offer work sponsorship for this role.
What you'll do#
- Prepare federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts, including related work papers.
- Complete projects according to engagement timelines and budget guidelines.
- Learn and use firm tax preparation software.
- Perform self-reviews of your work and conduct tax technical research as assigned by supervisors.
- Share knowledge with team members and look for ways to improve service quality for clients.
- Develop professional relationships within the firm.
- Participate in company training and activities.
- Collaborate with your assigned buddy and performance manager on your professional development.
What you'll need#
- You are on track to complete a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or taxation between December 2028 and July 2029.
- A minimum overall and accounting GPA of 3.0.
- Active membership in Beta Alpha Psi or a similar campus accounting organization.
- Strong technical aptitude and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership skills that show good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- The ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and take initiative on projects.
- High attention to detail.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to learn from feedback.
