About the role#
This is a full-time, paid summer internship within the tax service line at HCVT. Interns work with firm professionals to gain experience in tax preparation and research while developing both technical and soft skills under the guidance of a buddy and performance manager.
What you'll do#
- Prepare federal and multi-state income tax returns and related work papers for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
- Complete projects within established engagement timelines and budget guidelines.
- Utilize firm tax preparation software to enhance service quality and share knowledge with team members.
- Perform self-reviews of your work and conduct tax technical research as assigned by supervisors.
- Develop professional relationships and participate in firm training and team activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in accounting or taxation, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and July 2028.
- Minimum overall and accounting GPAs of 3.0.
- Active membership in Beta Alpha Psi or another campus accounting organization.
- Strong technical aptitude and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership skills demonstrating sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, take initiative, and maintain high attention to detail.
- Receptiveness to feedback and coaching.

- Location: West Los Angeles, California.
- Term: Summer 2027 (Mid-June through Mid-August).
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
