About the role#
Haworth is hiring a Sustainability Intern for a paid, full-time position during the summer of 2027. This role is based on-site at our corporate headquarters in Holland, Michigan. You will join a cohort of interns for a 12-week program that includes hands-on projects, workshops, and attendance at NeoCon to observe industry trends.
What you'll do#
- Shadow product development teams to understand their processes.
- Analyze the sustainability performance of specific products.
- Work with design and research interns to integrate sustainability into their projects.
- Research current sustainability trends and present findings to a broad audience.
- Develop training materials to improve internal knowledge of sustainability topics.
- Conduct research on sustainable materials.
- Plan and organize a volunteer activity for the department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Sustainability, Sustainable Business, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, or Environmental Engineering.
- An expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- Ability to work on-site in Holland, MI from May 2027 to August 2027.
- Unrestricted right to work in the United States.
- Preferred: A GPA of 2.95 or higher.
- Preferred: Experience with Office 365, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Preferred: Prior work, internship, or extra-curricular experience.
- Preferred: Strong analytical, data management, and communication skills.
- Preferred: Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage deadlines.
