About the role#
Hatch is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technology student for a 4-month co-op position starting in January 2027. You will join the Infrastructure, Water group to assist with municipal projects. This role involves applying your academic learning to real-world engineering tasks while working alongside project managers, engineers, and designers.
What you'll do#
- Support the preparation of design drawings and technical documents for municipal projects.
- Assist in CAD design for infrastructure, including water treatment plants, sewer systems, watermains, and roads.
- Develop electrical drawings as part of the design process.
- Coordinate with technicians and other disciplines to complete design deliverables.
- Apply standard engineering techniques and criteria to carry out assigned tasks.
- Assist senior engineers, surveyors, and designers with project requirements and design submissions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering Technology co-op program at an accredited college.
- Strong CAD skills with experience in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Compensation: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.
