About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy field and operations during the Summer of 2027. You will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundation of the FS and GROWMARK System. The role is designed to help you build industry connections and prepare for a future career in agriculture.
What you'll do#
- Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology for scouting.
- Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
- Gain experience with ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Complete an operational project focused on improving business efficiencies.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Participate in all required internship program activities, including weekly reporting and an orientation meeting in Bloomington, IL.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university.
- Good academic standing at the start of the internship.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and at elevated heights.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
