About the role#
As an Agronomy Operations Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the field while learning the foundations of the agriculture industry. You will work under the direction of location management to support daily operations and prepare for a future career in the field.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Visit various locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Operate technology and equipment used for field research and crop monitoring.
- Apply crop protection and nutrition products.
- Learn the processes for ordering, receiving, and managing inventory.
- Follow safety policies, including OSHA and DOT procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) and a commercial applicator's license.
- Ability to lift 51-70 pounds.
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions and at elevated heights.
- Ability to travel independently, including overnight stays when necessary.
