About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy operations. You will work under the direction of location management to learn the foundations of the industry and prepare for a future career. This is a full-time, paid summer 2026 position based on-site in Amherst Junction, Wisconsin.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Visit FS locations and customers to build professional relationships.
- Operate equipment used for field research and crop monitoring.
- Apply crop nutrition and protection products.
- Learn the processes for ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
- Follow safety policies, including OSHA and DOT procedures.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree or certification program at a community college, technical college, or university in good academic standing.
- A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
- The ability to obtain a CDL and a commercial applicator's license with required endorsements.
- Ability to work independently and participate in all required training.
- Physical ability to lift 51-70 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions or at elevated heights.
- Willingness to travel independently and stay overnight when necessary.
