About the role#
This summer internship provides hands-on experience in agronomy operations. You will work with professionals to serve farmer-member customers and gain insight into crop production, plant nutrition, and field management. The role includes participation in the GROWMARK Internship Program, which features mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Support daily agronomy operations and assist with product inventory, ordering, and receiving.
- Conduct field scouting to monitor crop health and gather data.
- Use precision agriculture tools and technology for field analysis.
- Help with agronomy trials, research projects, plot work, and field demonstrations.
- Participate in grower events and customer visits.
- Travel to various locations to build relationships with partners and employees.
- Complete and present a final summer internship project.
- Follow all safety, regulatory, and environmental health policies.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree or certification in agriculture from a community college, technical college, or university while in good academic standing.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions, including at elevated heights.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Melvin, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Commitment: Minimum of 12 weeks, starting no later than May 24, 2027.
- Status: Full-time and paid position.
- Attendance at three required internship events in May, June, and August is mandatory.
