About the role#
The Student Researcher program fosters academic collaborations by placing students on research projects aligned with company priorities. You will work on exploratory projects that drive scientific advancement across various research areas, including Google Research, Google DeepMind, and Google Cloud. This role is designed for students who are not seeking full-time employment following the internship, as the position is non-conversion eligible.
What you'll do#
- Participate in research to develop solutions for real-world, large-scale problems.

- Drive scientific advancement across multiple research areas.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Natural Sciences, or a related technical field at a university in the United States.
- Experience in a computer science field such as Natural Language Understanding, Human Computer Interactions, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Quantum Information Science, Data Science, or Software Engineering.
- Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C/C++.
- Experience contributing to research communities, including publishing papers in major conferences or journals.
- English proficiency for global communication and collaboration.
