About the role#
As a Data Scientist PhD Intern, you will work within our Data Science and Analytics organization. You will partner with engineers and data scientists to build solutions that influence our product roadmap and business strategy. Your work will support various teams, including Foundation AI, Safety, Economy, Engine, Social, Consumer Growth, and Creator Ads and Brands.
What you'll do#
- Research and develop solutions in data analytics, causal inference, experiment design, and machine learning.
- Address complex data challenges through in-depth research.
- Contribute to projects that impact our products, services, and business strategy.
- Support product innovations, such as in-experience experiments, friend recommendations, and dynamic resource allocation for servers.
- Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit or completion of a PhD in a quantitative field, such as Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science, Economics, or Computational Social Science.
- At least 1 year of experience in causal inference, machine learning, or experiment design from research or previous internships.
- Proficiency in programming languages like SQL, Python, or R.
- Experience with big data tools such as Hive, Spark, or Airflow.
- Experience with ML modeling.
- Experience developing production solutions is a plus.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid (onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
- Employment: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: $66 per hour.
