About the role#
The Student Researcher Program fosters academic collaborations by hiring students onto research projects aligned to company priorities. You will work on projects focused on developing solutions for real-world, large-scale problems and support the creation of breakthrough technologies. This role is exploratory and designed to drive scientific advancement across a variety of research areas. You will be considered for positions across various teams, including Google DeepMind, Google Research, and Google Cloud, to ensure the right match for your skills and interests.
What you'll do#
- Participate in research to develop solutions for real-world, large-scale problems.

- Utilize the latest computer science techniques developed by research scientists and software developers.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Natural Sciences, or a related technical field.
- Currently attending a degree program in Canada.
- Experience in a computer science field such as Natural Language Understanding, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or Software Development.
- Experience with general-purpose programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C/C++.
- Research experience, including internships, lab work, or contributions to research communities and publications.
- English proficiency for global collaboration.
Location & details#
- Locations: Waterloo, ON; Montreal, QC; or Toronto, ON, Canada.
- Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: This is a paid, full-time internship. Positions are non-conversion eligible.
