About the role#
The Student Researcher program connects students with research projects that align with company priorities in scientific advancement. You will work on exploratory projects that drive innovation across various research areas, including Google DeepMind, Google Research, and Google Cloud. This role is designed for students who will return to their degree program after the internship, as it is non-conversion eligible.
What you'll do#
- Participate in research to develop solutions for real-world, large-scale problems.
- Work collaboratively on projects that explore innovative research challenges.
- Support the creation of breakthrough technologies.
- Contribute to research communities and efforts.
- Utilize the latest computer science techniques developed by research scientists and software developers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Natural Sciences, or a related technical field.
- Current attendance at a degree program in Canada.
- Experience in a computer science area such as Natural Language Understanding, Machine Learning, or software development.
- Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C/C++.
- Prior experience as a researcher, including internships or lab work.
- English proficiency for global collaboration.

- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2026 (rolling applications).
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
