About the role#
The Environmental, Health, Safety, & Security (EHS&S) department at GlobalFoundries is seeking an intern for the summer of 2027. This role focuses on ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, and visitors through consultation and collaboration. You will work on-site in a full-time capacity.
What you'll do#
- Conduct hazard communication (HAZCOM) assessments, document your observations, and take necessary actions.
- Perform confined space reassessments and update documentation, signage, and communication.
- Execute area and task-specific hazard assessments to support EHS&S improvements.
- Assist with ionizing radiation inspections.
- Support all EHS&S programs while ensuring every activity is performed in a safe and responsible manner.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in a Bachelor program for Environmental, Health & Safety or a related field.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and good academic standing.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English.
- Availability to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Prior internship or co-op experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience from school projects, workplaces, or competitions.
- Project management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
