About the role#
As an intern on the In Vivo Pharmacology team in Foster City, you will contribute to research projects involving CAR T-cell therapy. You will work on both in vivo and ex vivo aspects of pre-clinical mouse models, supporting studies from initiation to completion. You will gain hands-on experience with laboratory techniques and technology while collaborating with experienced scientists. Near the end of your internship, you will showcase your work through a final presentation.
What you'll do#
- Participate in in vivo murine studies, including efficacy and PK/PD work or tumor model development.
- Perform tumor burden measurements using calipers or bioluminescent imaging.
- Monitor body weight, conduct clinical observations, and perform animal welfare assessments.
- Collect and process samples for downstream analysis.
- Perform aseptic cell culture for intravenous or subcutaneous inoculation.
- Learn to use specialized software and laboratory workflows for data acquisition and analysis.
- Maintain accurate records of study activities and results in an electronic notebook.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program at an accredited U.S. college or university.
- Continued full-time enrollment in the Fall semester following the internship.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Pursuing a degree in Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacology, or a related field.
- Experience with sterile mammalian cell culture.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be independently authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Foster City, California.
- Term: Full-time internship for 10 to 12 consecutive weeks between May and August 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid (on-site work required).
- Compensation: Paid internship including company holidays, sick time, and housing stipends for eligible employees.
