About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to oncology research projects within a clinical development setting. You will gain experience in biostatistics while working alongside cross-functional teams to support drug development and evidence generation. The role is based in Foster City, California, and follows a hybrid work model for the duration of the 10 to 12 week program.
What you'll do#
- Apply advanced statistical methodologies to address complex research questions in drug development.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate hierarchical models and clinical trial methodologies.
- Design and execute simulation studies and reproducible statistical analyses using R and related tools.
- Conduct methodological research focused on innovative statistical models.
- Translate complex findings into actionable recommendations for scientific and clinical stakeholders.
- Communicate research outcomes through reports, presentations, and publications.
- Document analytical processes and maintain reproducible workflows.
- Present your project work at the conclusion of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program.
- Continued full-time enrollment in the Fall semester following the internship.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Ability to work full-time for 10 to 12 consecutive weeks between May and August.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- PhD candidates and students in Biostatistics or related fields are preferred.
- Experience in oncology clinical trials, treatment switching adjustment methods, Bayesian borrowing approaches, or mixture/partition-based models is preferred.
