About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to contribute to advocacy and policy strategies within the Government Affairs team. You will engage in meaningful projects while gaining experience in the biotechnology sector. The role involves participation in professional development, leadership presentations, and team-building activities.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Government Affairs team with advocacy strategies, research, and policy memos.
- Track legislation, regulations, and policy positions.
- Provide summaries of legislative activities, stakeholder engagements, and events.
- Create and maintain communications materials for internal and external audiences.
- Prepare for leadership visits to Washington, D.C. or Foster City by compiling briefing books and background materials.
- Deliver a final presentation near the conclusion of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program, with continued enrollment in the Fall semester following the internship.
- Rising undergraduate junior or senior, or a graduate student in Summer 2027.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Independently authorized to work in the United States without need for sponsorship.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Highly organized with a focus on detail and managing competing priorities.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, District of Columbia.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Duration: 10 to 12 consecutive weeks between May and August.
- Modality: Hybrid (on-site work required).
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Paid internship with benefits including paid company holidays, sick time, and housing stipends for eligible employees.
