About the role#
Ghafari Associates is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in either Dearborn, Michigan, or Birmingham, Alabama. You will work under the direction of project engineers and managers to support the development of engineering design documents and digital models.
What you'll do#
- Create engineering documents using AutoCAD and Revit software.
- Collaborate with engineers during the design phase to determine project scope and data needs.
- Provide design input and create detailed design documents.
- Make corrections and produce final documents for review by engineers.
- Check for the integration of sections and coordination across disciplines.
- Resolve document coordination and production problems.
- Produce 3D drawings and digital design models.
- Deploy team-oriented problem solving.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in an engineering discipline.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework.
- Working proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to take direction and show initiative.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus.
