About the role#
Ghafari Associates is seeking an Architecture Intern for the summer of 2027. You will work on-site at our Dearborn, Michigan office from May through August. This is a paid, part-time position where you will support our project teams with design and technical tasks of simple to moderate complexity under the supervision of Project Managers and Project Architects.
What you'll do#
- Read existing construction documents and conduct field checks to document architectural conditions.
- Create as-built drawings and develop architectural building backgrounds.
- Set up project files in AutoCAD or Revit according to office and client standards.
- Produce construction documents based on direction from the lead Project Architect.
- Assist with design tasks of limited scope, such as stairs and toilet room layouts.
- Prepare technical documentation including schedules, reflected ceiling plans, and typical details.
- Collaborate with project team members across various engineering disciplines.
- Support programming sessions, prepare presentation materials, and organize project binders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Architecture, Fine Arts, Interiors, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Working proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Photoshop.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to take initiative while also following project direction.
