About the role#
As a Structural Engineering Intern at Gessner Engineering, you will join our Structural Department to assist with daily operations on active projects. You will work under the supervision and mentorship of experienced structural engineers and designers to build your technical proficiency and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Work in a team setting alongside other design disciplines.
- Assist with structural design for residential, commercial, and higher education projects.
- Visit project sites to collect forensics and as-built data.
- Conduct construction administration observation duties.
- Manage your time and workload effectively.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment as a junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A solutions-minded approach and a collaborative, positive attitude.
- Initiative to seek out new learning opportunities.
- For Spring terms: Ability to work at least 16 hours per week in minimum 4-hour increments while enrolled in fewer than 16 academic credit hours.
- For Summer terms: Ability to work at least 35 hours per week.

- Locations: Fort Worth, TX; Georgetown, TX; Bryan, TX.
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
