About the role#
Gessner Engineering, LLC. hires interns for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. This role provides hands-on experience on active projects while you receive mentorship from engineering professionals. You will work on-site in Bryan, Texas, and assist the department with daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Support the team with field service requests and lab testing.
- Draft field and lab reports for review by a project manager.
- Collaborate with peers and other design disciplines to guide project direction.
- Provide regular updates and identify potential obstacles to your supervisor.
- Work in a team setting alongside department members, sub-consultants, and clients.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift 50lbs, bend, stoop, and work in various weather conditions and terrain.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize assignments.
- Professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality when interacting with clients and staff.
- A solutions-minded approach, a collaborative attitude, and the initiative to seek out learning opportunities.
Location & details#
- Location: Bryan, Texas.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Availability: Winter interns must work at least 16 hours per week. Summer interns must work at least 35 hours per week.
