About the role#
Geotab is seeking a Legal Summer Student to join our team for a 4-month term starting in May 2027. You will work alongside our legal team to gain hands-on experience in corporate and commercial legal matters. This is a full-time, paid position based on a 37.5-hour work week.
What you'll do#
- Support the legal team and subject matter experts with legal advice, research, and drafting.
- Assist with the drafting, review, and execution of legal agreements, including software, data privacy, and intellectual property documents.
- Review, organize, and classify the legal team's contract database while identifying non-standard terms.
- Provide administrative support using software tools for contract management and file administration.
- Observe and support negotiations, meetings, and phone calls.
- Assist legal counsel with litigation matters, subpoenas, and requests for information.
- Provide regular status reports to key partners to ensure project delivery.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Canadian or US accredited law school.
- Ability to conduct legal research using Westlaw and other research tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft, Google, and data processing software tools.
- Strong analytical, research, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple timelines and contrasting priorities.
- A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.

- Locations: Atlanta, Georgia; Oakville, Ontario; Toronto, Ontario.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Term: Summer 2027 (4 months).
- Compensation: $21, $27 USD/CAD per hour, depending on location and qualifications.
