About the role#
Geosyntec Consultants is hiring an intern or co-op student for our Davis, California office. This position allows you to apply your academic knowledge in civil, geotechnical, environmental, structural, or water resources engineering to real-world projects. You will work part-time, approximately 10 hours per week, during the Fall 2026 semester with the possibility to extend through Winter 2027. We prefer candidates who can return for additional semester rotations.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering calculations using technical software.
- Write and prepare reports, letters, plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Manage data input and analysis, including the creation of maps, tables, and figures.
- Collaborate with engineers, geologists, administrative staff, CADD operators, and construction personnel.
- Participate in fieldwork, such as soil and groundwater sampling, drilling oversight, and stormwater inspections.
- Travel to project sites and offices using personal, company, or rental vehicles.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral program in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Strong academic record.
- Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- A valid U.S. driver license, a satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Experience with ArcView, CADD, or Microsoft Office is preferred.
- A degree focus in civil, geotechnical, structural, environmental, or water resources engineering is preferred.
